Useful place

July 08, 2017

I have a new web site.  I want this to be a living and useful place for you to become acquainted with or for you to deepen your connection with my work and working.  My intention is to write as often as possible, sharing bits of wisdom and/or stupidity pertinent to my studio life.

It’s remarkable how consuming creating a new web site can be and I very much need to thank my wife and my assistant for this herculean undertaking.  We’ve gone through great efforts to make it useful and user-friendly and we appreciate your comments and complaints and suggestions, all of which will be heard and considered and, of course, addressed when possible.

A couple of things I want to draw your attention to:

·      The events page will be regularly updated with happenings you may be interested in.  Check back often.

·      Even better, register on my website so that you hear from us about the big events going on in my art world.

·      The media page will be updated as videos, podcasts, or articles are created that may be of interest, so check in there from time to time.

·      I’ll be adding to my words page as frequently as my schedule allows.  Here are a few topics I’ll address in coming months:

o   Collecting art

o   Copying

o   Originals vs reproductions

o   Gallery stuff

o   Ruts and blocks

o   Naked issues

One last note. I am happy to consider any questions or suggestions you might submit here in future blog posts, so fire away.

Commissions
Jul 6, 2017

It's not that I never accept commissions (although that is almost actually true); rather when I do, the terms have to preserve my connection to the work. If this sounds tricky, it's because it is.

My paintings are religious to the extent that I am religious. I believe that one of the by-products of any artist's work is to reveal the interior "religion" of the artist
